Global Programme In Country Staff Moldova/Purpose of the position

- Identify opportunities for WAC to support a joint Moldova campaign that holds leaders to account
- Build collaboration with the national stakeholders;
- Support the development of a WAC webpage on www.aids.md website; maintain the update the webpage and inform partners accordingly on any important events;
- Promote WAC’s role in the national coordinating system of the HIV and AIDS response;
- Create partnership with local organizations in developing together with the WAC IEC materials with advocacy purposes;
- Ensure communication with the WAC international offices on project development;
- Update on important developments in relation to HIV and AIDS field the WAC team;
- Conduct research one emerging advocacy issues and priorities;
- Develop innovative communication tools with national partners;
- Represent WAC at national events and within CCM, and/or other coordinating bodies;
- Support national partners during the campaigning phase: by convening meetings with partners, support in developing messages for decision makers etc.;
- Monitor the Project Action Plan and work in collaboration with WAC consultant on M&E;
- Coordinate national activities with the support of experts from WAC international office;
- Liaise with GNP+ in-country focal person on programme matters;
- Identify funders for the platform and WACI’s in country work;
- Work with line manager to develop NSP proposal; and
- Any other task that are deemed necessary for the successful implementation of the programme.

 Purpose of the position
To maximise the effectiveness of the WAC in-country programme in Moldova through:
• logistical support;
• establishing, maintaining and building networks, key relationships and mailing lists;
• liaising with key partners and other organizations in the in-country campaign platform, working to ensure that it becomes and remains inclusive of a wide diversity of agencies and interests;
• convening and organizing meetings;
• providing campaign skills-based training, or liaising to ensure that such training is provided;
• seeking and providing information to the Global Programme on relevant national and regional developments;
• working with the line manager to identify and liaise with potential regional/national funders; and
• supporting campaigners and the relevant aspects of in-country partner organisations as appropriate

Location UNAIDS Moldova
Hours per week Initially 20; flexibility in days worked and hours worked between weeks is required.
Status of the position The position will be a fixed one year contract.  Any extension will be funding and performance dependent. 
It will cover the geographic area covered in the job title.
Management lines The Line Manager will be the Global Programme Officer based in Cape Town. 
Requirements An understanding of the impact of HIV on communities and their response to it
An understanding of how to achieve change in Moldova.
Experience of working in a position of authority in a civil society organization and of working in a campaign.
An ability to work independently, to take initiatives and to be accountable over a long geographical distance.
Fluency in the Russian and Romanian as well as English
Ability to travel to South Africa and Vienna in the next 6 months
